After deciding on a name for our company, we've heard so many comments - from "bold and righteously vivacious" to "traditional elegance with a modern flare". Following the varied comments, however came the question, "What does it mean?". We think to best explain this we should look at the symbol of the Yin Yang.

The symbol has its roots in ancient Chinese cosmology. The ideas behind Yin and Yang come from observation of the physical world. The Yin and Yang represent all the opposite principles we find in our universe, where Yin represents the qualities of femaleness, the earth, the moon, darkness, completion and passivity, and Yang the qualities of maleness, heaven, the sun, light, creativity and the activity.

In order to understand the concept, it is best to look at the process rather than the structure of Yin and Yang. Each of the opposite principles in nature (male/female, light/dark, sickness/health, wealth/poverty, power/submission) produces or reciprocates the other. A good example would be creation where the act of creating occurs under the principle of Yang and the fulfillment of this creation occurs under Yin. Another example could be in the observation of body organs - the heart is considered to have Yin qualities because it is solid, but its function promotes the flow of energy, which is a Yang quality. You cannot have one without the other...the aspects of yin and yang are always interdependent of each other.

Change is constant and cyclical. All opposites that we experience can be explained in reference to the transient advantage of one principle over the other. No one principle dominates without end. It requires constant readjusting to achieve balance, which is essential in life. This IS the way of life -- The Circle of Life.

Notice that in the symbol the Yin and Yang are contained in one circle - each containing a part of the other. The symbol portrays the perfect balance between opposites, showing that they are mutually interdependent partners. This perfect balance IS "the true and ultimate paradise" ...it is EMPYREAN.

As we enter the new millennium we see modern day technology advancing at a phenomenal rate. The Internet in particular has grown to new proportions. The time has come to readjust...to make the necessary changes to provide us with balance and harmony in this ever-changing world.
